Peace & Social Concerns Committee

In this post, you will see material on grants, POWER and “working with your legislator”.

Additional material on POWER will be forthcoming.

The committee administers a program to make small cash grants to outside organizations that have the involvement of a member of the meeting community, who must apply for the grant. Click to download the Grant Application form.

Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting is studying the question of whether to join POWER as a member congregation. Download the following documents for more information about this organization:

Syrian Refugee Support

Chestnut Hill supports Syrian refugees living in Jordan through the UNHCR Lifeline program. This program provides funds so Syrian families can pay rent and send their children to school. A donation of $175 supports a family of 4 for a month.
We meet on the fourth Sunday of most months to plan fundraising, education, and cultural enrichment.
